The smart grid network infrastructure developed by Aydem Elektrik Dağıtım A.Ş.
The smart grid network infrastructure developed by Aydem Elektrik Dağıtım A.Ş., using computer and network technologies in an integrated manner, has significantly boosted the company's operational efficiency.
Aydem Elektrik Dağıtım A.Ş. switched from traditional to smart networks primarily in order to mitigate the output limitations in existing plants due to power surges in crossover junctions causing losses in overheated cables.
Having a proven track record going back many years in terms of reliable cooperation with Netaş in ICT-related projects, Aydem Elektrik Dağıtım A.Ş. decided to work with Netaş on this project as well. Netaş was chosen for the expert analytical skills provided by Netaş's seasoned teams and its flexible approach towards additional requests.
STRATEGIC APPROACH AND THE SOLUTION
The ACRS (Automatic Counter Reading System) Project that Netaş developed specifically for Aydem has proved to be a major success in a very short time.
Netaş integrated in this project software and hardware tools for reading 21,000 new generation counters, 12,000 communication units and 9,000 panels remotely, as well as a software infrastructure capable of supporting at least 100,000 measurement points for remote reading purposes.
With the help of this system, it has been possible to use the data communication systems of mobile operators in transferring the data stored on the counters to the databases maintained at the headquarters, as well as ensuring healthy data reporting, instant data transfer to the Disaster Recovery Center (DRC), full system security coverage, and instant access to the DRC when needed.
Once again, Netaş proved its success by delivering the Automatic Counter Reader System (ACRS) project developed for Aydem Elektrik Dağıtım in a relatively short period of time. A Bereket Energy company engaged in power distribution across Aydın, Denizli, and Muğla, Aydem Elektrik Dağıtım A.Ş. can now read and constantly monitor nearly 21,000 counters remotely thanks to this new system. Even an insignificant malfunction in the network is instantly reported to the headquarters and the problem is resolved in a very short time.
Launched in January 2013, the project took a year to develop. The rollout began two years ago and is ongoing.
