First base station orders received in ULAK project participated by Netaş
ULAK project implemented with the partnership of Netaş, Aselsan and Argela to develop national software and hardware components to decrease foreign dependence on mobile communication technologies has received its first orders. Netaş CEO C. Müjdat Altay expressed the pleasure of being an ULAK consortium member and drew attention to the fact that these first orders received in ULAK Project of which they were an important part were an important indication of Turkey's getting stronger in the mobile market and the determination of 5G road map.
In the signing ceremony held in the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona on February 27, 2017 by Netaş, Aselsan, BTK, SSM and the operators, the first orders of Turkey's national 4.5G project were put into effect. The signing ceremony was held with the participation of the Undersecretary for the Ministry of Transportation, Maritime and Communications Suat Hayri Aka. ULAK project that has received its first orders for 250 base stations from each of three operators operating in Turkey has strengthened its commitment to carry Turkey to the future in mobile communications.

We have accomplished very important achievements in 4.5G since the day we began this project. Today, we have the most comprehensive laboratory and experienced team of Turkey. We work fast to develop the 5G technology in Turkey using our 4.5G knowledge and infrastructure. Today, we wish that the first order received by ULAK will be a very good start. This step, we hope, will also shed light on Turkey's 5G map.”
Also reminding that Netaş had been selected as a member of the executive board of the European Technology Platform NetWorld2020 established to guide the mobile and fixed communications systems of the future, C.
